You're referring to the file It_Couldnt_Have_Happened_512kb.mp4?

It has sound when played with VLC and with mplayer.

Surely you're not trying to play it with something third-rate like Windoze Media Player?

There is no sound on the .mp4 version. Thanks for wasting my bandwidth.

Reginald Denny this time slighly different from his "Algy" part in the Bulldog Drummond films, but also funny.

My windows media player didn“t play the audio, only video. VLC played audio and video with a short interruption of the audio after 42 minutes of the film (only for 10 or 15 seconds).

Reginald Denny heads a solid B-movie cast in this so-so murder mystery. I know Denny as the quintessential upper-crust British twit, and trustworthy sidekick in the Bulldog Drummond films. Here he's fine as the playwright Stone, reluctantly pushed into acting the detective. Evelyn Brent (The World Gone Mad, Mr. Wong, Detective, Symphony of Living) is very good as she pesters, goads and aids Stone. Jack LaRue (Gangs, Inc., X Marks the Spot, Under The Big Top) is cast as a gang boss, as usual, but he's far from the humorless criminal here as he also helps Stone.

The mystery involves the murders of the two producers of a play. The solution to the first murder, and the motive of the killer in the second murder are plausible, but the solution provided for the second murder I think is ridiculous. I mostly didn't care much, instead enjoying the interplay between Denny and Brent.

I downloaded the 767MB MPEG2 file. I often had trouble understanding dialog in the first half or so of the movie. Voices were often low or the actors spoke fast, and noise was a problem, but it improved. Video and audio quality are otherwise fine.
